You must have been a beautiful baby...
So innocent and peaceful.
As a parent I adore my child and I take photos of her every chance I get.
It takes time and patience when working with babies. Photographing babies and children in a natural and comfortable environment is crucial to the authenticity of my images. I don't care for shooting in a studio much. I normally will go to my client's home and photograph the children in their own home, crib, yard, etc.
The resulting images are worth the time in the end because it I love to see the parents reaction to their child's photos. It's almost as if a realization occurs that sometimes we are so busy during our daily grind and we miss these precious moments that are gone all too quickly. Capture as many as you can!

Models
So I am beginning to work more with models now that I am expanding my portfolio into fashion. I feel it is really important no matter what industry you are in to do your homework and learn as much as possible in order to succeed. It is imperative for a photographer to be able to give a model direction and for the model to understand what it is that will give us the winning shot.
One of my all time favorite shows is America's Next Top Model. I applaud Tyra Banks for this show and her drive to help up and coming models in the business. If you are an aspiring model and are reading my blog, take a look at Tyra's site for some insight into her career and some modeling Do's and Don'ts.

Digging deeper
So I have decided to dig deeper and get back to the basic reason why I fell in love with photography, documenting and exploring the human experience through my lens.
I have been reflecting on all the experiences of my life and coming up with specific topics I would like to bring to you in my photographs. Stay tuned...

Introduction
So all of you are wondering....who the heck is NYPhotoshoot Photography?
My name is Christina Martinez. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.
My love affair with photography began at the age of 17 while studying at Fashion Industries high school. Inspired by New York City's skyline and the millions of chances to capture all the wonderful traits of this city and it's inhabitants. I began working professionally as a freelance photographer five years ago when I met my husband. He inspired me to pursue my career and so that others could view the world through my photos.
I have always worked as a 9-5er in Manhattan. Pencil pushing job that just seemed unsatisfying. Once I picked up a camera again I was hooked. All of us needs something to be passionate about in order to feel like our lives mean something, for us to leave our mark. Photography is my calling.
Hopefully you will follow me on this journey and love my photos. I want to know how they make you feel, so don't be shy to tell me.
